Hey Guys! I hope you guys had a great holidays!!!
I was fortunate to spend my holidays with all of my family and loved ones 🙂
I have debated internally of whether to share this post, because of some of the pieces that I purchased for myself, but I thought that since they are such good items, I could not help but to share!
Disclosure: I purchased all of these with my own money.
After a grueling semester of being a full time law school student and working part-time at a firm, I struggled a lot. After finishing the semester, I decided to reward myself for my perseverance and my accomplishment of getting to the 1/2 way mark of finishing law school.
So while, I was holiday shopping for friends and relatives, I could not help but to purchase this:
Burberry Brit ‘Wilford’ Double Breasted Trench Coat in White
This jacket is absolutely stunning, the craftsmanship, the feel and the look made it seem all so perfect, but the price. When I saw this on the rack, I was immediately drawn to it, and when I saw that it was Burberry, I wanted to place it right back down because I knew if I tried it on and it fit me perfectly, I would not be able to stop myself from purchasing it. However, when I saw that the jacket was on clearance for only $350, where the MSRP (original price was $900) I decided why not give it a try. I didn’t even look at the size and went straight to the fitting room. Here was my dilemma in the fitting station: it was perfect on me!
Standing at 5’2″, the length was perfect and the belt hit me perfectly in the waist.
It was as if the jacket was made for me!
The fit was great, but there were so many valid considerations:
1. The price of $350 (not including tax) – one of the most expensive items I have ever purchased
2. The color – white – my Chinese mom did not approve because of how easy it is to get a white coat dirty
3. Did I really need a Burberry coat when I just received a Michael Kors Winter Jacket as a birthday gift?
4. The coat was made of cotton and not wool – which is not truly suitable for cold winters – but since I live in Atlanta, I did not think this was a big issue.
After debating in the store internally and calling friends for their advice, I bought it. I figured that it was an investment piece that I will enjoy for years to come.
What do you guys think? Is this a type of investment piece that you would purchase?
I would love to hear your thoughts!!
